Out of hours
Enhanced Access
The surgery offers enhanced hours through our Primary Care Network (PCN) new 'Standard Network Hours'. These appointments will be varied including young persons mental health, Covid vaccine clinics and you may need to attend another local practice.
Currently we do offer GP appointments at The Elms Medical Practice on:
- Monday evening from 6:30pm to 7:45pm
- Friday morning from 7am to 8am
All appointments at this time are pre-booked. Reception operates on a skeleton staff during this session, and general queries and appointment bookings cannot be accommodated.
Telephones and the main reception open at 8am and close at 6:30pm.
These appointments are especially beneficial to those patients who find daytime appointments difficult.

Life Threatening
Call 999 or go to A&E now if:
- you or someone you know needs immediate help
- you have seriously harmed yourself - for example, by taking a drug overdose
A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a medical emergency.
Urgent But Not Life Threatening
Visit an urgent care centre if:
- You have an urgent medical issue requiring on the day attention
Non-urgent
Use NHS 111 if:
- You need help now, but it's not an emergency
There will be someone to provide you with advice and to direct you to a clinician if it is necessary.
