Throughout the Covid Pandemic we have remained open for our patients and this remains so despite having members of staff on self-isolation. We understand that patients are only able to contact their GP practices by telephone which leads to long delays getting through on the phone even though we have put in a new phone system and increased the lines into the surgery.

To free up our phone lines for our vulnerable, or those without access to the internet or those needing to speak to a clinician urgently we are asking our patients, where possible, to use our ONLINE CONSULTATION SERVICE. Our patients do not have to register for this service, simply click on the link and start using. A clinician reads and assesses all your ONLINE CONSULTATION queries and a GP, Nurse, Paramedic or another appropriate member of the tea will respond either by phone, email, video or where necessary a safe face to face consultation. We aim to respond within 2 working days. You can use ONLINE CONSULT to request appointments, blood tests, results, Med3 certificates, general advice, indeed everything that you would normally call the surgery for. The service also has a host of self-help and advice.

Please, where possible, use the ONLINE CONSULT especially during this lockdown as by doing so it will enable the elderly, vulnerable, the very poorly and those without access to the internet to be able to phone and get help quickly.

If you have a high temperature, or a new continuous cough or you have lost your sense of taste or smell, please self-isolate immediately and contact 111 online. Anyone who has symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) can ask for a free test to check if they have the virus.

FLU VACCINATIONS FOR THE NEW COHORT AGE 50 - 64 YEAR OLDS

Following the government announcement that 50 to 64 year olds will be able receive a free flu vaccination from 1 December the practice is working to make this available to newly eligible patients as early in December as we can.

 

As soon as we have supplies of the vaccine available we will contact patients aged 50 to 64 to offer you an appointment.  If you fall within this age group and are not in one of the eligible ‘at risk groups’ please do not contact the practice to book an appointment as we are not yet able offer you a definite date or time.

 

We are continuing to provide flu vaccinations to over 65s, under 65s with certain long-term medical conditions, pregnant women and young children. If you are in one of these eligible groups and have not yet had your flu vaccine please contact the practice as soon as possible to book an appointment.
