Patient Notice - We are here for you

To the patients of the Harpenden Health Primary Care Network (The Elms Medical Practice, Davenport House Surgery and The Village Surgery),

We have remained open and here for you. We are continuing to provide services as we have been throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, but we are being asked to prioritise delivery of care and services based on clinical needs. 

You can request a telephone or face to face appointment in various ways; via eConsult (see above), by phone or in person at reception. Triaging appointments allows us to assess the most appropriate way to provide your care depending on your clinical need, and ensure your care is provided by the most appropriate person in an appropriate timeframe. eConsult allows you to request everything from an appointment to ordering prescriptions to requesting a sick certificate. Extremely quick, full of useful advice and very user friendly. You do not have to register for this service, simply click on the big link further up this home page. 

Please be aware that when you do visit the surgery, you will be asked to wear a face mask (unless you are exempt) and comply with social distancing regulations.  If the reception or waiting room area is busy, you may be asked to wait outside the surgery until it is safe for you to enter. 

General practice, nationally, is under intense pressure- supporting patients, communities, hospitals and delivering Covid vaccinations.

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.

This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.

The Practice premises are modern and purpose built; dating from 1995. Disabled patients can access all the medical services provided directly.
